» Message from Patrick Ang, President,

Association of Professional Trainers (Singapore)
It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome all new members to our association, and to thank all our existing members for their past active involvement at our monthly network meetings and training workshops.
The association, registered in April 2006, is a relatively young organisation.
But in the space of just two years, it has successfully established itself as a credible and recognised organisation that has attracted well qualified and experienced trainers from different specialized fields.
For the new term, we have drawn up a strategy aimed at creating more opportunities for our members to learn and upgrade themselves, to hone their training skills, and also to secure more speaking and training engagements for our members. This will hopefully help them to generate higher or more additional incomes for themselves.
Our plans include seeking an affiliation with an international institute or recognised university to offer training and certification programmes for our members. Another programme highlight being planned for 2009, would be to stage a conference event with speakers drawn from our own membership, as well as invited high profile international speakers. With these initiatives and more activities being planned in the following months, we hope to raise the awareness and profile of the APTS and to become recognised as the best trainer body in the local industry. I have said that the success of good leadership begin with a servant's heart and attitude. My Executive Committee members and I have pledged to serve APTS to the best of our abilities..I have emphasized that it is not about just holding office, but more importantly about a willingness to serve in office.
We hope we can also count on our members to support us in like manner. We would like all our member to feel a sense of belonging and ownership in APTS. It will take time, but in time to come, it is my hope that as stake holders in the association together we can build APTS to be the best it can be. We must achieve high excellence, and be better than the best. As part of our corporate culture, we must work together to build and establish a tradition and camaraderie that we can all be proud of.
Finally allow me to close with these words:
"When we give of ourselves with total trust, dedication and passion, we will receive back in like measure, following the Laws of Attraction.
Yours sincerely
Patrick Ang
APTS President
